As a Residential Support worker you will be expected to be hands on and able to cope well under pressure in challenging situations. Our Ofsted rated Outstanding home based in Stoke on Trent provides provision for young people aged 16-25 years of age who have mild to severe learning difficulties. This includes emotional, social and behavioural difficulties or disabilities. With needs increasingly more complex, our Home uses meaningful, practical learning activities to engage and motivate young people, and to provide them with the life skills they require to succeed. This means that your role will be varied in the sense that you will support our young people with their learning by accompanying  them to college, as well as  going out into the local community to take part in fun activities such as swimming, badminton, and trips to the farm. No two days are the same within our home and if you're up for the challenge, you can be part of the fun too!

At Aspris Children’s Services we are immensely proud of the career pathway and training we can offer you.  As long as you can demonstrate the values needed for a role, transferable skills and life experience, we will give you all the training and support you need to progress!

Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable Young People in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.

Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs.  Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.

Organisation – Strong organisational skills are important to support the class teacher and young people with educational activities

Caring – Our young people require the best care we can offer.  If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.

Attentive – No two tasks will be the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.

Above all, we provide a supportive and collaborative working environment where you can flourish in your career and feel incredibly rewarded by helping those who need it most.
